WHAT YOU RECEIVE

  • Easy-to-follow instruction guide
  • Recording of actual sound made live in digital stereo for best reproduction.
  • Easy-to-follow, step-by-step manual

HOW THE SYSTEMS WORK

Each segment is played at least 10 times. The first one is 10 minutes long and consists of a special music developed to keep your dog calm, yet alert. The rest of the segments are 5 minutes long. Each segment introduces specific aspects of the sound according to behavioral rules. These are:

Volume -- Loudness is gradually increased

Frequency of Occurrence -- More and more occurrences of the sound are added

Nature of the Sound -- Begins with low booms, pops or rumbles. Advances to sharp cracks.

Duration -- Short at first then gradually lasting longer

In the second half of each system, the music is phased out gradually since it has served its purpose. In the final segment, your dog will be listening to heavy gunfire, fireworks, or thunder as calmly as it listened to the first, music-only segment.

Important:

  • The gunfire system requires a bridging step back to the field.
This is explained in the manual.

  • The thunder system's manual also helps you introduce additional variables such as flashing a strobelight or setting off a camera flash to simulate lightning.
You will also be guided on how to help a dog that anticipates thunderstorms because of barometric pressure changes.

  • Some dogs may need to be tranquilized. We are prepared to assist your veterinarian with information.

WHAT YOU NEED

At least a good-quality, boom box type of player with at least two 3-1/2-inch speakers. A bass boost control would also be helpful but is not necessary.
